The Inlets at Riverdale

The InletsJust two miles west of Interstate 75 on State Road 64 in Bradenton, you can find a hidden gem.  The Inlets at Riverdale, which also includes Harbor Walk, The Preserve and Bella Sole’, is an active boating community, just off the Manatee River.  The property was platted for 800 homes in 1957, but did not begin building until 1993.  There are currently lots available and homes being built by award-winning builders, Arthur Ruttenberg Homes and Medallion Homes.  Many of the lots are waterfront with their own private dock space.  Properties range from, $275,000 for non-waterfront, existing homes to new construction properties upgraded to two million.

As you first drive into the deed-restricted community, the quaintness strikes you.  You will notice contemporary modern architecture, with a “Key West” feel along with the glow of the gas powered street lamps attached to each mailbox.  The natural setting is evident with many large mature trees and landscaping throughout.

The area public schools are: William H. Bashaw Elementary, Carlos E. Haile Middle School and Braden River High School and are well graded.

Residents can enjoy many amenities, such as a playground, boat launch. Kayak/canoe launch, hiking/jogging trails and a lighted tennis court.  While some boaters have direct access to the river, others go through an effective lock system.  Tampa Bay is six miles downriver and Anna Maria Island and the Gulf of Mexico is six miles further.

If you decide to venture out of the community, Bradenton Beach on beautiful Anna Maria Island, is a straight shot west on State Road 64 for 14 miles.  The Sarasota-Bradenton Airport is a quick and easy 13 mile drive.  The community is close enough to enjoy many Lakewood Ranch amenities, such as the Main Street Shops and will be a quick 15 minute drive to the new University Town Center mall, which is planned to open in 2014.
