Gulf Gate HomeOne of the best features Sarasota has to offer is the small town charm combined with various activities that appeal to many different interests.  The community of Gulf Gate community is a perfect example of this feature.  Located at the base of the Stickney Point bridge (the South bridge over to Siesta Key), Gulf Gate consists of over 500 Florida ranch homes that were built in the late 1960’s and after. The homes sit on fair-sized lots and on quaint tree-lined streets.  The homes vary in size and design, but mostly consist of two and three bedroom homes with usually one or two car garages. Some have swimming pools and the average size of the home is around 1, 500 square feet or so.

As you travel through the Gulf Gate area it is common to see neighbors gathering to chat, couples biking on the biking trails, and families out for a walk together.  In the center of the community there is a 27 hole executive golf course that is open to the public with a restaurant and lounge; perfect for the 19th hole!

Another feature, popular with the locals, is the Gulf Gate Village located at one of the entrances into the community. As you stroll down the streets you can smell the delicious food from the local eateries, hear live music in one of the many pubs, and can stop in for ice cream, coffee, or in one of the many specialty shops.  Gulf Gate’s proximity to Siesta Key has been a favorite among its residents.  In fact, in under a 10 minute drive, one can leave their Gulf Gate driveway, and be sitting on Siesta Key Beach sinking their toes in the famous powdery white sand that has made Siesta Key one of the top beaches in the world.  It is no wonder that Gulf Gate is a desirable area for full time as well as part residents.
