For all those interested in gazing at stars and other heavenly bodies……..
Weather permitting, on Saturday, October 12, starting at sunset and continuing until 10:00 p.m., the Local Group of Deep Sky Observers will set up high-quality telescopes at Lakewood Ranch Main Street. This will take place in the south parking lot of Lakewood Ranch Main Street, 8141 Lakewood Main Street. Sunset on October 12 will be just past 7:00 p.m.
Highlights of the evening will be stunning views of the first quarter Moon, although you can also expect to see a variety of other celestial objects as they become visible throughout the night. There will even be a chance to spot the most elusive planets in the Solar System: Uranus and Neptune, on the night of the event.
The Sidewalk Astronomy event is FREE and open to everyone.
