The RHS Kiltie Band in Sarasota, FL is a traditional Scottish band honoring Sarasota’s Scottish heritage. The band members wear kilts (MacDonald Clan), tartans, spats, and real horse-hair sporans! The world-famous Kiltie Band celebrates over 50 years of proud existence and traditionally boasts over 300 band members and also has a long list of travel and performance destinations that include several appearances at the Rose Bowl and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades! The band also has been to Ireland on several occasions for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Fiesta Bowl, Scotland, Disney World, Disney Land, NFL halftime performances, presidential inaugurations, and much more! The band has over 35 straight superior ratings, the highest rating a marching band can receive, at their annual marching band contest! Off-season, the bands perform on-stage around town during concert season. When I was a Kiltie in the 80’s, it was more prestigious to be in the band than it was to be on the football team! Take in a half-time performance on a Friday night at the RHS Ram Bowl for the upcoming football season that begins in late August!
